On May 3, all of the orchestras from across the district will gather to perform in the large HS Field House! It’s a great opportunity to witness performers from all ages and the transition from beginner to advanced.

The orchestra program at Lake Zurich Middle School North offers students an opportunity for personal growth and enrichment through the study of orchestral music literature, string performance, and music history. The curriculum will emphasize proper performance technique, study of music literature and history, and the exploration of musical expression through performance, composition, and improvisation. Students explore technology in music through amplification, effects processing, recording, and much more.

Chamber Orchestra

Grades 7 & 8
Chamber Orchestra is comprised of 7th & 8th Grade students that are typically in their fourth and fifth year of music instruction.

Intermezzo Orchestra

Grade 6
Intermezzo Orchestra is comprised of 6th Grade students that are typically in their third year of music instruction.

Prima Musica

Auditioned Ensemble
Prima Musica is an auditioned ensemble that meets once a week after school. Students are required to learn much of the challenging music on their own outside of rehearsal.
