Bistro Nite 2014

Bistro Nite 2014

Bistro Nite is an evening of music, a social gathering and a chance for students to perform their solo or ensemble before the big day at Solo & Ensemble Contest. This is no regular concert where the audience sits and listens quietly. This is an evening where all are welcome to come and go when they choose. Audience members can stay as long as desired to enjoy the performances, eat good bake-sale food, mingle with others, and have a great time! Be sure to bring money for treats.

If students want to perform at Bistro Nite, they should sign up with Mr. Broach. Since there are limited performance slots available, a lottery may be used to determine which students perform. We encourage all BOC students to attend the evening even if they are not performing. This is a great opportunity for them to support their peers.

Participation in Solo & Ensemble Contest provides an opportunity for music students to select, make perfect, and perform music for a highly esteemed music educator (and other family members) to receive quality feedback on how they may improve. In the months leading up to the contest, the process of preparation also includes constant feedback from peers and/or teachers as well as self-evaluation as they work towards perfection. Also, after the contest, students will have a piece of music that they can perform well in any musical setting – for example for family during the holidays, sharing on YouTube, or in school classrooms during poetry readings.

North StringFest

March 1, 2016 @ MSN Cafetorium

Every other year, all orchestras from MSN, SL, SP, and MW (4th – 8th Grade) perform in the MSN Cafetorium. This is an excellent opportunity for orchestra students, family, and community members to witness all stages of students’ performance ability.

Great America Trip

BOC Awards Night

May 25, 2016 @ Concord Banquet Hall

At the end of every year, students are awarded for their accomplishments at the annual BOC Awards Banquet, typically, held at Concord Banquets in Kildeer. The evening begins with a formal dinner, followed by a DJ & dance, and ends in an awards ceremony where all orchestra (band and choir too) students are recognized for their participation in orchestra and select students are awarded for their extraordinary achievements in orchestra.
