Congratulations S&E Performers!
Congratulations to the orchestra students on their excellent performances as well as their dedication in helping make the Solo & Ensemble Contest day run smoothly for all of our visitors. Also, thank you to the many parents and siblings that helped with hosting our contest! We couldn’t have pulled it off without your support!
A big congratulations to the performers who earned Perfect Scores: Annette Suk, Madison Cognac, Sam Cornelius, and Nathan Pham. Way to go!
Regardless of the score received, the most important part of S&E Contest was the process in learning challenging pieces of music. I can honestly say that every single performer is at least “one notch” better at their instrument because of the process required to prepare for such a performance. Good work!
Nut & Candy Fundraiser
March 1 – March 15
On March 1st (or somewhere around then), we will begin our Nut & Candy Fundraiser. Students can earn money to help offset the cost of the Orchestra Trip. Students earn about $2 for every item they sell. Order online or in person!
Our online store can be found at: lzork.terrilynncares.com. Order premium nuts and candy – delivered right to your door!
Alternatively, students will receive brochures and order forms and can sell items the old fashioned way. Materials will be distributed in class.

Auditions. Auditions to participate in the D95 Sinfonietta Orchestra at Contest will be held on the week of Feb 27 – Mar 3. If you would like to be considered as a member of the D95 Sinfonietta, be sure to let Mr. Broach know, ASAP!
Basic Day of Contest Schedule.
Arrive at LZMSN @ 8:00 AM.
Take bus to Contest, Warm-Up, Perform, etc.
Pick-up from LZMSN @ 11:15 AM.

“My Music Office” Online Tool
We will soon be unveiling a new online tool (mymusicoffice.com) to help with administrative tasks in orchestra. For example, you will be able to look up your balances for the upcoming Orchestra Trip, look up your orchestra bucks earned from fundraisers, check out music from our music library, and much more!
I sent a preliminary invite to all students already even though it doesn’t do much yet. Stay tuned for parent invites too!
April 27 – 29
We are still in the works of putting finishing touches on the plans for our St. Louis Trip and it’s going to be a fun one! I will update the event page as I know more details.
Payment. By now you should have paid most of your balance for the upcoming trip. I will update students on their balances in the next few days. The total of $450 should be paid by March 24. Make checks payable to “CUSD95”.
You will be able to use any money raised in the Nut & Candy Fundraiser.
Chaperones. We are in need of 4 (or so) parent chaperones to accompany us on the trip. Your partnership to make this an amazing trip for the kids would be greatly encouraged! Let me know if you can join us. Ideally, I’d love to get $400 from parent-chaperones to pay for various costs, but if can do it but can’t pay the full amount, I may be able to lower the cost for you. Let me know!
