After a few years, it’s time gets a new look – and with it comes a simpler user experience (I hope). I am continually trying to make this site more friendly and usable by the orchestra members, their families, and our fans. If you have any ideas or constructive criticism, please let me know!

Orchestra Pledge Drive

Let’s make it easy. We have done standard fundraisers in the past, but to minimize the burden on students and families, we’re doing something new.

Basically, we are asking for donations to support the numerous programs and trips we have in orchestra. We’re starting small and our goal is $1000 to fund the Composer in Residence program.

If you donate to the orchestra you will receive a gift and recognition as a thank you for your support!

The Viper Returns!

Our Composer in Residence, Dr. Ryan Jerving (aka The Viper), returns to Lake Zurich MS North for a third time to compose original music for our orchestras!

Last November, The Viper & His Famous Orchestra (including Mr. Broach on bass!) performed in Lake Zurich to showcase past compositions and perform some new ones. The Viper got ideas from the audience and has been busy putting them together for the orchestras this year. We can’t wait to hear them!

He will be here on Friday, April 27 for the first of three workshops with the orchestras.

Read The Viper’s message to the current students at A Message from The Viper.

Final Concert

The final concert of the year will be held on Thursday, May 17 @ 7 PM in the LZMSN Cafetorium. At the final concert we will bid a bittersweet adieu to the 8th graders, perform music from a wide range of eras, as well as perform music from our very own Composer in Residence, The Viper!

The evening begins with a formal dinner, followed by a DJ & dance, and ends in an awards ceremony where all orchestra students (band and choir too) are recognized for their participation in orchestra. The cost for banquet which includes: dinner, DJ & dance, and an awards ceremony is $25. We hope all students can attend!
