Bistro Nite 2014
Picture yourself sitting at a French cafe in Paris next to the Seine River. The Eiffel tower stands prominently in the distance. Music drifts to your ear through the friendly atmosphere as you enjoy your favorite French delicacies, perhaps a croissant or a café au lait. The first performer played your favorite tune, tres bien, the second, oo-la-la, wowed you with virtuosity, and the next moved you almost to tears. You know more will be performing throughout the evening and you can’t wait to hear them all. This inviting bistro ambiance can be heard at MSN.
Every year a few days prior to NIMCon Solo & Ensemble Contest in February, the BOC programs host Bistro Nite from 6:00 to 8:00 in the MSN Cafetorium. Bistro Nite is an evening of music, a social gathering and a chance for students to perform their solo or ensemble before the big day at Solo & Ensemble Contest. This is no regular concert where the audience sits and listens quietly. This is an evening where all are welcome to come and go when they choose. Audience members can stay as long as desired to enjoy the performances, eat good bake-sale food, mingle with others, and have a great time! Be sure to bring money for treats.
If students want to perform at Bistro Nite, they should sign up with their director. Since there are limited performance slots available, a lottery may be used to determine which students perform. We encourage all BOC students to attend the evening even if they are not performing. This is a great opportunity for them to support their peers.
Mes amis, we can’t do this alone and are always looking for parent volunteers to bring baked goods for the bake-sale, to help with decorations, and to help with set-up and clean-up. If you are interested in volunteering to help make this evening a memorable one, please contact Mr. Broach.
